In a very brief period of time A/R will start coming down, cash flow will be boosted, and lost revenue will be identified.

Example engagements:

  • A community health organization struggled to return to baseline cash collections following a difficult systems conversion. Atwater interim staff, working both onsite and remotely, was able to identify and correct system set-up issues, cleanup work flow bottlenecks, train staff, and pitch in on collections follow-up. Within 75 days cash was back to baseline, AR was under 50 days, and unbilled was less than 2 days.
  • A large academic medical center asked for help to manage legacy Billing and Collections as the Live date for an enterprise-wide systems migration approached. Atwater provided interim staff including interim Project Management. Beginning 90 days prior to go-Live, lasting until approximately 60 days post-Live, the Atwater staff maintained and, in some cases, reduced AR, improved denials recovery, and prepared the legacy AR for turn-over to a third party for final resolution. The engagement was highly successful and under budget.
  • As part of an acquisition of a large Physician practice an east coast health system asked for help with run-down of the Physician legacy AR. Atwater assembled a team of Revenue Cycle experts to design, implement, and manage an AR rundown strategy. Using a strategic combination of existing staff, qualified outsource firms, and temporary staff the AR was virtually liquidated within 120 days. Costs of collection were well below accepted standards.
